Edwin "Eddie" Velez (June 4, 1958 in New York City) is a Hispanic-American actor who stars in films and on television. He appeared as Frankie "Dishpan" Santana in the final season of the NBC-TV series The A-Team.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Velez began acting while in the United States Air Force, when he was stationed in Sunnyvale, California at the Sunnyvale Air Force Station.
Acting career[]
In 1981, he was honorably discharged from the service and later on moved to Los Angeles to pursue his TV and film acting career.
Eddie got his first TV series role in the TV series Charlie & Co., his other TV role was on the soap opera Capitol in 1986 as Alonzo. He later on that year starred in the hit NBC-TV series The A-Team as Frankie "Dishpan" Santana from 1986 (with one remaining episode broadcast in 1987) as a new member of the team, a special effects expert. The show was in its fifth, final season, and Eddie was brought in alongside TV veteran Robert Vaughn as part of a revamp in an attempt to revive flagging ratings. Eddie's other TV roles were in the series Trial and Error in 1988 as John Hernandez. He starred in True Blue as Officer Frankie Avila.
Eddie starred in the soap operas Port Charles and General Hospital as Det. Alexander Garcia, and later on starred in the soap opera Days of our Lives as Paul Mendez.
Some of Eddie's other feature film roles were Doin' Time (1985), The Women's Club (1987), Rooftops (1989), Romero (1989), Traffic (2000), White Chicks (2004) and Beautiful Loser (2008). His most recent film is Repo Chick.
Velez has made guest appearances on various programs, including Cagney & Lacey, JAG, Hill Street Blues, Walker, Texas Ranger, Pacific Blue, Charmed, and Numb3rs. He stars in Albert Pyun neo-noir thriller Bulletface.[1]
